SEN Tutor Roles - Functional Skills Maths & English
Are you a qualified teacher with QTS or QTLS and experience working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?
At Inclusive Tutoring Network, we provide personalised 1:1 education to children and young people who may be unable to access mainstream education, including those accessing Education Otherwise Than At School (EOTAS).
We are looking for passionate teachers to deliver Functional English and Maths tuition, adapting their teaching to meet the individual needs, interests and learning styles of each learner.
£40 per hour | Self-employed | Flexible, 0-hour contract
Key responsibilities will include:
As a 1:1 tutor, you will:
- Deliver engaging and personalised Functional English and Maths sessions.
- Adapt your teaching to suit each learner’s individual needs, interests and learning style.
- Work with young people with a range of SEND needs and learning profiles.
- Work towards individual learning goals and educational outcomes.
- Support learners’ academic, social and emotional development.
- Build positive relationships that encourage engagement and confidence.
- Work collaboratively with families, ITN staff and other professionals involved in the learner’s support.
- Complete the required session records and progress reports.
About you:
We’re looking for someone who:
- Holds QTS or QTLS.
- Has experience teaching or supporting children and young people with SEND.
- Has a strong understanding of Functional English and Maths.
- Can adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.
- Is passionate about helping young people develop confidence, independence and essential skills.
- Can build positive and trusting relationships with learners.
- Has a valid DBS check on the Update Service, or is willing to obtain one.
- Is committed to safeguarding and maintaining high standards of professional practice.
